BALANCE TRANSFERS - YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

How do I transfer a balance? Once you have been approved and received your Partners Visa credit card, you can request a balance transfer using one of the following methods:

  • Login to Partners Online Banking at partnersfcu.org
  • Call the Partners Member Service Center at 800.948.6677
  • Visit a Partners Branch

What types of balances can I transfer? You can transfer balances from other creditors that includes credit cards, personal loans, auto loans and other loan types.

Can I transfer my balance from another Partners Visa credit card? No, balance transfers between Partners accounts are not permitted.

Is there a minimum or maximum balance transfer amount that can be completed? Yes, the minimum transfer amount is $100. Balance transfers may not be completed if they exceed 90% of your credit limit.

Will I be charged a balance transfer fee? No, there is not a balance transfer fee. Balances transferred will be billed interest at your approved APR* based on credit worthiness.

How long does it take for a Balance Transfer to post to the account I have with other creditors? If your balance transfer request is approved, the payment to the other creditor may take up to 30 days to be received. Please continue to make payments until you confirm that the payment has been posted.

Will my account with the other creditor close automatically? No, your other creditor account will not close automatically, even if it is paid in full. You will need to call your other creditor to request that they close your account.
