This vibrant card, developed in partnership with Disney's Business Employee Resource Groups (BERGs) Wakanda and Pulse, represents our commitment to elevating the voices and contributions of Black and African American communities.
Wakanda and Pulse foster professional development, community engagement, and cultural insights for Black cast members and employees. By partnering with these BERGs, we aim to not only support their mission but also serve as their financial partners for life.
The Soul card was unveiled during an event last year, where Ricky Otey, CEO/President of Partners, participated in a dialogue moderated by Mark L. Walker, EVP at ESPN. Attendees gathered for a powerful conversation focused on financial literacy and strategies to enhance wealth-building in the Black community. At this event we invited attendees to help name the new Proud Ally Collection card, resulting in its name—Soul.
Last year, we launched the Proud Ally Collection with the introduction of the Pride card, reinforcing our commitment to diversity and inclusion. The Soul card builds upon this foundation, showcasing our dedication to celebrating and uplifting various communities through financial empowerment.
