In June 2020, Forbes.com released its list of the best credit unions in each state. With more than 5,200 credit unions carrying over 120 million members across the U.S., Forbes had the daunting challenge of conducting a comprehensive survey determining, state by state, which Credit Union was the best. Nearly 25,000 credit union members in the U.S. were surveyed for their opinions on their current and former banking relationships.
To accomplish this task, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to produce the results of the nationwide study. Credit Unions were scored on overall recommendations and satisfaction, as well as five subcategories (trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services, and financial advice). Of the 5,236 credit unions nationwide, just 3.5% of the surveyed credit unions made the final list.
