March is Women’s History Month, a time that highlights the contribution of women in history and contemporary society. This month is especially significant as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Throughout this month, Disney employees as well as communities around the world will celebrate women and their allies with various employee events.
Last week, I had the opportunity to present at one such celebration- DPEP’s International Women’s Day Summit hosted at GCAT in Glendale, CA. The event itself was stunning, well organized and featured some of the best and brightest Women and Disney professionals across the Company. My colleague and I presented on topics ranging from budgeting, credit scores and retirement to an enthusiastic audience. The presentation focused on the individual financial journey and was meant to inspire people, especially women, to be aware of the options that are available. Even though we have different goals, it’s important to have tools and advice to guide you along the way. Personally, it was a powerful moment for me being on stage and presenting to my fellow SHEroes- an opportunity I was very grateful to be a part of.
This is just one of the several events that Partners is celebrating Women’s History Month. Being a proud member myself, I am happy to say that one of the best benefits of Partners is the access to financial workshops and education materials which is free to all Disney employees and Cast Members. Please check out your local listings for events in your area centering around Women’s History Month.
