Partners Jamz Scholarship
Since the Jamz Scholarship was launched in 2001, Partners has provided tens of thousands of dollars to deserving high school seniors to use for higher education. This year, the Credit Union will award up to $10,000 in scholarships to Partners Jamz Members who display a commitment to academic achievement and community involvement.

All Members who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:
  • In good standing with the Credit Union's Partners Jamz™ club*. (It's free and easy to join.)
  • A junior or senior in high school
  • Planning to be accepted to an accredited college or university in 2010 or 2011**
Winners will be chosen by a committee of Credit Union Cast Members and volunteers who will consider factors such as GPA, extracurricular activities, community involvement and content of an original essay on a topic of the Credit Union’s choosing.

Essay Question: How can Social Media channels impact personal financial literacy and development? What are the benefits/potential risks of consumers relying on these channels?

There are three ways to apply, choose the one most convenient for you: But don't delay! All application materials must be postmarked by June 30th, 2010 in order to be considered for the awards. Scholarship winners will be notified in the summer of 2010.

*If you are enrolled in Partners Jamz but your 18th birthday occurs before June 30th, 2010 (expiring your Jamz club membership) you are still eligible to apply for a scholarship, provided you meet all other requirements. **Partners will retain all funds until the recipient can provide verification of acceptance to an accredited school. For a current high school junior, this could mean that Partners will hold any awarded funds for up to a year. Partners Federal Credit Union will only award scholarships to individuals who qualify based upon the Credit Union's application criteria and the judgment of Credit Union officials. Partners FCU reserves the right not to award scholarships if the application criteria is not met and/or the scholarship application materials do not meet the standards set forth by Credit Union officials. These standards can be made available upon request.
